CNN Center

I took Joe to CNN Center and persuaded him to read today’s headlines
for all the visitors who were on the Inside CNN tour. Of course, I
wanted to live vicariously through him! I wouldn’t put myself through
the embarrassment of all the people watching me through the glass.

Southern Comfort Music Experience

While Joe played in the Olympic fountains, Sean and I went to the SCMX
(www.southerncomfort.com) for a few. We quickly grew tired from the
blistering sun and heat….but the SOCO Twist gave us renewed energy. I
actually enjoyed some of the bands that played….I wasn’t even
disappointed that there were no "pop" bands.

"The Southern
Comfort Music Experience (SCMX) is taking over Atlanta this May with a
FREE two day music festival incorporating food, lifestyle and most
importantly, Unexpected Fun®. This summer SCMX will travel the country
from San Diego to Philly, kicking off in Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic
Park May 20th and 21st. SCMX is a 21 and over event and will last from
12noon to 11pm on Saturday and 1 2noon to 10 pm on Sunday. For 2 days
Centennial Olympic Park will be transformed into a rocking festival
filled with great music, great food and great spirits. The mainstage
will mix in some New Orleans spice with mainstream music including such
bands as The Flaming Lips, Cowboy Mouth, Ozomatli, De La Soul, Big
Star, and Family Force 5. Apart from the superstar lineup SCMX will
boast the all new SoCo Lime®-Light Lounge, Southern Comfort Hurricane®
trailers and bars, and the best local grub."

Sean and I had a nice time today at Six Flaggs. It’s the biggest Six
Flaggs we’ve been to. We all have season passes so hopefully Joe will
be entertained while we are at work this summer.

I was offered the job in downtown Atlanta. I find myself once again
having to figure out what would be the best opportunity. The job
doesn’t pay nearly as much as my other "new" job but it’s so close to
my home that I would never have to deal with traffic again and it might
turn into a really good career opportunity. I currently work as a
Network Operations Analyst which is really a job promotion for me. It’s
much better than having just a computer operator position. With my
current job I really like the fact that I will be trained on everything
from building servers to being intimately involved in disaster recovery
testing. I was told today that I will eventually have to fly to New
York to perform a disaster recovery project. If I accept this other
offer I will be a Network Operations Technician which will pretty much
entail the same thing….but the pay is a lot lower. Another benefit of
my current job is that I will work only 3 days a week (13 hour
shifts)(11:00pm. – 12:00pm)….once I’ve completed orientation.
BUT…I’ve been trying for a very long time to get off a night shift.
Both managers are really nice guys. Do I want less money….and
hopefully less stress or do I want more money with added stress? What
would most people choose?
